Learning slowly

Standard

I’ve been trying to find my way around my new site now for the past couple of days and it’s safe to say, I’m a diddy! Or the old grey matter is shrinking. I remember years ago when I was wee and we got our first video recorder. I might only have been about 10, but I had that thing sussed out in ten minutes. Now I know how my mum and dad felt – they couldn’t quite get the hang of the video recorder and it’s new technology. Luckily they had us kids to do it for them. I will keep plugging away though on my own, because I want to learn! I WILL beat it…

About Isla Guthrie Writes...

I am a writer. There, I said it, so it must be true! Yay! I am also a wife, married to my (seriously) better half. I'm a mother of two lovely (most of the time) grown up daughters. And all the other extensions, like daughter, sister, etc. We have two dogs - one old and crabbit, the other young and mental. I like doing a bit of photography and other crafty things like making my own organic soap, shampoo and skin stuff. I want to save the planet, and love to browse the charity shops for clothes and furniture and nic nacs. I want to write a novel...well, I plan to do it, and have made a start. I am honing my skills by continuing to study Creative Writing at Glasgow Uni. I am part of a writers group called Write Enuff! and we meet every week to practice what we have been learning at Uni. And drink tea and coffee...and eat cake...and put the world to rights!

  1. Proud to know you Isla and to be your first blog follower – I think. I still haven’t got the hang of managing my blog but yours looks great. I loved your stories in our classes and our more laid-back but hard-working writing group meetings so I am really looking forward to your extracts and trying to avoid the desperate urge to buy every one of your stories as they come out. Please package them in an anthology as soon as possible, if only to save me money so I can buy them as a collection. For everyone out there who has not read your work – follow this site, it’s going to be a really good read.
